I sarted blogging just late last year when I got here in California, out of boredom.
I have a Friendster account, first attempt ko sa social networking, a very old account (myspace wasn't born yet). 'Dun talaga ako nagbablog before, actually, I'm still posting there, I cut my posts here and paste it there, one of the early things I've learned about computer, "cut and paste". Marami akong "readers" sa Friendster blog ko, because I have lots of Filipino friends and former students there. Tumigil na ako mag-post sa Friendster and I invited "them" to visit this blog, but...maybe tinatamad, or yung iba, very new talaga sa internet, they don't know how to go to my site, well... computer illiterate din ako dati.
Then last September, pagbalik ko dito galing Pilipinas, nakasabay ko sa eroplano ang Miss Google Philippines, si Aileen Apolo. Sa airport pa lang sa Manila, wala na kaming tigil sa kaka-kuentuhan. I've learned from her that she's the reigning Miss Google Philippines and she's going to compete for the 2007 Miss Google World here in California, joke! Malakas ang powers ni Aileen that convinced me to continue blogging. She advised me to continue blogging in tagalog because I told her that both my english and tagalog are bad. S'ya lahat nagturo sa akin about adsense and other stuff. Kinukulit ko s'ya on line, madaling araw na sa Pilipinas gising pa s'ya minsan so nakaka-tiempo naman ako. "Ninang" s'ya ng blog ko. Maraming-maraming salamat ulit Aileen, Mabuhay ka Miss Google Philippines Forever!
And then 'nung lumabas na yung mga "best influential blogs" in the Philippines, 'dun ko nakita ang blog ni Coy, Rick Manzano at iba pa. Noong mga panahong 'yon hindi pa ako masyadong concern sa content ng mga blogs, nagkaka-interest ako kapag maganda ang visual design ng blog, so 'dun ako na-impressed sa Cokskiblue ni Coy. Sa Pilipinas, nasa theatre, television, film and advertising ako, Ive done a lot of films, soap operas, tv commercials as a Production Designer and I've done a lot of video productions as a Director, but the only thing na talagang hindi ko napag-aralan ay editing, and I regret that. So super inggit ako kay Coy, kaya nga big fan n'ya ako, di n'ya rin alam 'yun, LOL. Hindi lang design nang blog n'ya ang maganda, kung hindi 'yung mga video blogs n'ya.
Siempre ang blog ni Gibbz Cadiz. Magkakilala na kami ni Gibbz before thru Direk Joey Reyes, dati kasi akong tulak ng mga pirated rare art films, so suki ko dati si Gibbz. Sorry Gibbz ha, yung reputation mo, at sorry din Edu, dati pa naman yun. I love Gibbz because he became the "voice" of Philippine theatre. And being a theatre artist, natutuwa ako sa ginagawa n'ya, updated ako palagi sa iniwanan kong theatre life sa Pilipinas.
Naka-subscribe ako kay Aileen at Gibbz. Kay Coy hindi pa, hindi ko pa kasi s'ya kakilala, but being the "ninong" of my blog, puede na akong mag-subscribe sa kanya.
Blogging is eating up my life lately. Okay lang naman at wala pa akong ginagawa. I'm moving to Las Vegas this Monday at may project ako 'dun. I don't have a laptop yet, makikigamit lang ako ng computer pagdating ko 'dun, hindi ko pa din alam ang magiging schedule ko, but I know I will check my mails everyday.
